Add an option other than yes and no for voting, such as "near" or "related"
Often, when I'm voting on synonyms, I come across a word that I know not to be a synonym, but see as related.
One example: A hornet is not a honey bee and it is only one genus of insect. While I might vote that "hornet" is not a synonym of either, a writer or reader would certainly benefit from knowing that bees and insects are related.
Assuming that some voters will call them synonyms anyway seems like a messier solution

Wikipedia support as a new category other than synonyms, definitions, etc?
Like the ‘https://www.thefreedictionary.com/’ app- I’m not sure how difficult it is to add wikipedia content (on your end)- but in words that have a Wikipedia page it would be cool to be able to have that as an option separate from the definition.
This is my favourite dictionary/thesaurus referencing app/website by far! I don’t want to have to go between it and the others if possible ;) hahaha (as long as it’s not too hard on the developers end that is)
1 voteWe are currently working on adding term definitions from Wiktionary to definitions.
As for Wikipedia articles as a separate list (e.g. encyclopedic articles) – we might consider this after some evaluation.
As an alternative this could be part of “definitions” with special list filter – dictionary or encyclopedia.
Please use comments for your thoughts on this.

The ability to add personal ‘tags’ to our glossary please!
On words that we have starred, it would be amazing to be able to add tags so we can organise them based on what they’re relevant to us for. Some dictionary apps/websites have the ability to add words to a list, which is good, but it would be cool to have tags like ‘adjectives’, ‘political’, ‘emotive’ etc and then filter the results so some aren’t lost.
(What i mean by ‘lost’)
So for example, ‘lost’ within a big list of adjectives I’d like to remember, etc.
Or, if I save my favourite words for art analysis, some of these may…1 voteWe are having an idea to implement multiple lists for favorites.
It would be possible to create personal list of adjectives and name it “adjectives”.
Would it be beneficial?

Allow us to add to our personal glossary on the app version please!
I use the ios app- I noticed (i think) I can only ‘star’ words as my favourites when on desktop. It would be really cool to be able to do this on the app too! Thanks :)
1 voteThe apps (both iOS and Android) will have user favorites as part of new accounts later this year.

Help to understand how strong a word is
It would be really useful to know how synonyms are sorted in their "seriousness". Sometimes I'm just not sure if the word is too strong or too weak to use.
Having some system (labels, numbers) to know would help.
For example, I would arrange from weakest to strongest:
Sympathize > Like > Adore > Admire > Love
Chilly > Spooky > Worrisome > Scary > Dreadful

Add personal glosary.
I want to be able to create a list of words that I've searched for.
It could be a simple list, containing only the terms without any additional info, but they must be clickable, so I could easily search again.
I also would like to be able to download that list as a simple .txt file OR to be able to copy all terms in the list at once.
I often find myself searching for the same terms, so an option like that would be really helpful.
3 votesThe new version will allow registered users to access their search history with ability to sort by date or frequency.

Public API
PowerThesaurus needs a standard REST API for basic CRUD operations, so that other apps and services can talk to PowerThesaurus. Something like this:

Option to filter out profanity
There should be an option to filter out profanity.
If someone is using a thesaurus, don't they want to expand their vocabulary, not become more lazy by resorting to swearing?
Either way, making this an option would be good.

Support "quiet" extensions like Tranquility (if offering ad-free subscriptions is too much trouble)
The 'unobtrusive' ads in the browser version are actually quite distracting to me. Happy to pay a small monthly fee, but if you could set your pages to display synonyms when quiet reader extensions are invoked, that would suit me fine. Currently, when I turn on Tranquility in Firefox all I see is the count of synonyms and a copyright notice. If I have a way to see results without ads, I promise to donate.
1 voteWe started developing subscription version called PRO that allows to have ad-free experience in addition to other features.
We plan to have this released in March 2021.

Download results as a text file
Add download feature that allows you to get a text file of the results for the word you are searching for. Thank You.
4 votesThis might be a useful feature for teachers and other professionals who use Power Thesaurus for further similar work.
Could you please use comments to give more info on planned usage? Should it be just a simple text file with terms one on each line?

Automatically show the "quick view" of the first word, in the search suggestion.
Currently, you have to hover the mouse over the word on the dropdown to have the quick view of this words synonyms. By automatically opening the quick view of the first word (which is most of the times the preferred result) makes the search lighting fast and real time, without the need to grab the mouse or press the "down" arrow.

App for PC
I think power thesaurus is fantastic sometimes I go through several different Thesaurus' starting with one word, in search of just the right alternative but when I found power thesaurus I found that wasn't necessary. The only problem is, I do most of my writing on my PC or with pen and paper. If I need to look up a word my go to is either my personal hard copy dictionary/thesaurus or my PC. However, as anyone with wifi knows a stable internet connection can't always be relied on. So, I just wanted suggest I'm not the only one that…

Definitions by users
A "new" definition would have to be reviewed to make sure it's not bogus or just very uncommon.
8 votesWe do have this functionality in plans. However at this stage we are focused on thesaurus entries and making sure that we deliver this part right.

Place word definition on the same page as synonyms
As it stands users need to follow a link to view word definitions. It'd be nice if the most common definition of a word could be placed on the same page as the synonyms.
4 votesThe most common definition for list terms will be available from sub-term menu on the same synonyms page.
As for primary term – at this stage we believe that combining both definitions and synonyms on the same page might create unnecessary visual noise and would shift focus from current clean list of terms.
Please discuss in comments.

American and English spellings of the same word
It makes little sense to me that American and English spellings of the same word have separate entries with different results. For example, behavior and behaviour, or colour and color. These entries should be combined in my opinion.
8 votesAt the moment our position is that American and English spellings have different usage based on demographics and locality. Hence the choice of best suited terms might be different. Please discuss…

Accounts: Upvoted words
I love this service but sometimes I'll find a word I want, move on, and then have a hard time finding it again
It would be nice to have accounts (optional) so users can:
- view all upvoted (and, I guess, downvoted) words
- this also encourages users to be more proactive about upvoting because it also acts as a bookmark (which helps the site's content)
- Could possibly be connected to word maps which would be cool because it would encompass all the user's favorite words and even show connections
- have an easier time adding new words because…7 votesUser accounts have been added in 2020.
All votes are done by registered users only and are stored internally.
We also consider to add a section (similar to current favorites, searches, suggestions) in Accounts to view upvoted terms.
